Sometimes even a problem can be a blessing in disguise. With the week of computer viruses running
rampant around the globe, the hosting center for The Astral Realm was hit as well. This had all of
my sites down as well as email. Part of the problem was the increased security measures created to
help thwart new attacks. This forced me to convert the entire site from ASP to ASP.NET. It was
grueling, but, in the long run a better way to run.

I just finished a new book by Robert Peterson called
Lessons Out of the Body and I highly recommend it. It's great to find a book
that is written from a very experienced astral traveller encompassing both
experiences and techniques. If you are looking for a comprehensive book on
out-of-body experiences then you must add this to your library.
With war looming in the next few days I've been searching for any OBE or NDE stories from veterans or
partipants from past wars. This has not been an easy task since there seems to be a reluctance to
publish these accounts on the web. I will keep searching...

I had to reprint this note from the latest newsletter: Wow! I can't believe it but some tapes
have reappeared on the market that I have been using since 1982. Frankly, I love these
hypnosis tapes and always wondered what happened to them. Apparently, the original
author, Barrie Konicov, has re-released them to the public. His daughter is now selling
them on the Internet.
I really think you should try one of these tapes out. I still use the 'Astral Projection'
tape today (it's very beat up and I need to get a new one).

Happy New Year to all and I apologize for the slow response getting
back to updating the Astral Realm news. The holidays have been very busy but I will have
a newsletter out soon.
I was thinking the other day about the word 'dimension'
and how it is used by both scientists and by those who work in psychic or astral realms. Many times
we hear or read of the dimensions experienced by those out-of-body. Even though it sounds
like a very subjective experience, the description seems to make sense to the traveler. As one
becomes more experienced traveling the dimensions of our physical plane seem to dissolve when moving to
other realms.
On the science side of things we see physicists now talking of a many dimension universe - concepts like
hidden dimensions, parallel universes in branes (that's a new term for a 3D universe in a multi-dimensional
reality), holes through dimensions, etc. My question is where do these overlap? When someone
experiences a new dimension out-of-body and can sense the astral component of a physical object (such
as moving their hand through a door or a wall), what really is that component? Will science come
to the realization that the dimensions of consciousness are mixed with the dimensions of our phyiscal
world?

Next, there's Mount Kailas - the oldest pilgrimage site.
And then there's Sacred Glastonbury home of the amazing
Glastonbury Tor. Frankly, if anyone could do a remote viewing session or astrally project to these sites I would
love to hear about it!

Whew! Christmas is just around the corner - I've been searching for some
great additions to the site for some astral projection New Year's resolutions. Stay tuned.
Now, I have talked about this before - but the concept of artificially inducing an out of body experience
is not that far fetched. From a doctor's perspective would he or she see this as only a (Expired Link)psychological
experience or a sensation? It seems that the medical profession is becoming more interested in the
phenomena from both a diagnostic viewpoint and an experiential viewport.

I have been thinking about the energy patterns as one moves from physical reality
to the astral dimensions. By this I mean there seems to be a continuum of energy
that mimics reality as one first leaves the body. Then, the form of that energy
changes as you move into creative higher dimension worlds. How does that energy
tie together from the fabric of space and time? There really seems to be a direct
connection between consciousness and the form of matter.

We are reeling here in Minnesota over the death of Senator Paul Wellstone. Again it brings
the thoughts about life, death and spirit much closer to home. No matter anyone's political beliefs - he was truly one
of a kind.

Found an interesting UFO photographic correlation between these odd
sightings. The testimony from the parking lot looks very close to these
Gulf Breeze shots. Now you may wonder why I refer to UFO pages
- the real reason being the connection between alien abductions and astral travel. There has been a lot of literature written about
the non-reality yet spiritual aspect of abductions and the astral realm.

Now this really combines reality, myth, astral projection, UFOs...you name it - watch out, it gets wild! It
also contains some reference to underground tunnels. If you don't remember - some time back there was a hubbub of
news about residents in a New Mexico town hearing weird noises underground called the Taos hum. I have to admit it is very strange. Listen to it

A story: a couple "had gone out to dinner with friends and were
sitting in the restaurant bar when Don...left the group and moved into an empty stool in
one corner of the barroom. Bernice said that she'd let him go so that he could be alone
for a while...but that a few minutes later she'd looked up to see Don in animated conversation-
with himself! Laughing affectionately, she'd pointed this out to their friends. However,
when they drove back home that evening, Bernice said that she'd started to tease Don for talking
to himself...and he reacted with angry astonishment. "What do you mean, talking to myself?" he
demanded. "For God's sake, I was talking to that old guy all night long!" "What old guy?" Bernice
asked, puzzled. "I didn't see any old guy-you were sitting by yourself." Stunned, Don had
yelled at her to "stop making stupid jokes!" Bernice said that it took some doing on her part
to convinece Don that she wasn't up to some elaborat put-on. Don had seen and talked with
"a very nice old fellow" for a couple of hours, and as far as Don was concerned, the old guy was as real
as Bernice and their friends. "Don said that for some reason, he just spilled all his problems
out to this old man,"..."He said that he didn't know why he thought a stranger would care, but the old
man listened very carefully and asked him some smart, thought-provoking questions." .

I remember when I was about 8 years old a teacher(who would be
fired today in the politically correct world) played the audio tape of the hypnosis sessions with Ruth Simmons a.k.a Bridey Murphy. If you are not familiar with this case it probably stands as one of the first
true new age breakthroughs mixing hypnosis and regression with reincarnation. To me this is just a consistent part of the astral realm. This tape is one of the things that got me interested in this phenomena. Under hypnosis she regresses to a past life in Ireland (Bridey Murphy being her Irish name - her real name is Ruth Simmons) and reveals details that were verified as historically

Oddly enough, while writing this article I came across this product -Past Life Regression Software that claims to unlock your past life. I have not looked at this yet- so I can't really
endose it. But it sounds
interesting.

I uncovered this interesting biography of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
and his quest for spiritualism and claims of the afterlife.
I feel bad that he was so determined yet was gullible to the extend of being blind. We all face that
danger. It reminds me of the desperation of UFO investigators and witnesses to prove that every sighting or
abduction was 4ft tall gray aliens. That may be true but some saw a light in the sky and immediately said 'its the grays'.

All right, what's going on here? Frankly, I have been spending
the summer learning how to create an online business to work from home. With my full time
job and children it has been very difficult to maintain my interests (namely, this site) and
other things I love to do. So, I have been deep into the world of online marketing and attempting
to earn extra income so that I can become finacially free. (Nice dream, I know, but people are
doing it). The down side is its not easy and takes most of my free time to learn. At this point
I've spent about $300 to learn and have earned about $250 back already in about 1 month. Time will tell...
Meanwhile, I'll have much more time to devote to the Astral Realm once school's back in session and
my children are not vying for the computer!!

Holes or tunnels to other realities?
Many accomplished projectors have explored new worlds via similar cosmic holes.
Robert Monroe, for instance, spent many of this astral journeys in the "higher worlds."
He describes his discovery of these cosmic tunnels in his Journeys Out of the Body.
His initial discovery occurred whitle he was OBEing from his bed one night.
Next to his bed he found a hole. "That's the only way to describe it," he writes.

hypnosis. He stated that 1 out of 12 people are easily placed into a
trance and are very prone to suggestion. I've used hypnosis astral tapes before
but now I'm utilizing self-hypnosis.

It must be argued that the concept of reincarnation and the astral body must be one in
the same. The spirit evolves over time by passages from body to spirit and spirit to body. Most theologies that
support reincarnation tend to believe in (Expired Link)Karma - the concept that your actions in this life will affect the next. Some have attempted to spin reincarnation
into (Expired Link)Christian thought. I'm not a Karma fan personally, however, it does make
some logical sense. Like evolution and change in nature I believe the spirit grows and evolves as well - close to the beliefs of theosophy.

Education, classes and workshops are a difficult prospect when dealing with OBE information. I have found a number
of recordings and other materials for home study. Some of these are pretty good but tend not to
dig too deep into the subject matter. But, if you want the best then go with the top transpersonal author and lecturer.

I really didn't want to open up conversations about religion and OBEs and NDEs. As we
all know this is a very touchy subject. Most overtly religious people are very skeptical of the astral realm and view it within the bounds of
a NDE or occult phenomena. In fact, it is very interesting in this study that those who are strictly (Expired Link)Christian or Atheist tend to exhibit more fear of the NDE.
I personally believe this stems from the shock directly to their strong beliefs to either side.

What is real in an OBE?

face close to the candle and had some difficulty in putting out the flame. I had to blow on it several times before it finally seemed to extinguish.
I turned around, saw my body lying on the bed, and gently floated back into it. Once in the physical body I immediately turned over and went back to sleep.

Wow - I just came back from spring vacation in AZ and feel renewed. Sorry about the wait for new articles! Whenever I'm there I see all
kinds of information regarding UFOs and odd events. Take, for example, the Thunderbird - a weird winged creature that can swoop down and pick up cattle.
Don't forget that Arizona is crawling with ghost towns. You can't help but feel the spirits in Tombstone!

I'm now reading The Mothman Prophecies by John Keel. If you haven't read it or seen
the movie yet it you really should pick up a copy. It is truly a classic of Fortean literature.
Fortean events tend to tie together in space and time. Many astral stories are linked by other psychic and strange coincidences. Is there a connection?

interesting. The concept of a spirit guide seems to come up more often in NDEs rather than OBEs. A

I have made the assumption that everyone knows the basic techniques and some rules of astral projection or travel. I'll
attempt to be a bit more proactive in providing the steps here online as well as links to many different methods. My favorite
starting point is the book Leaving the Body by D. Scott Rogo. This book provides a very good history and basic technique
to travel out-of-body.
I will be addressing UFOs and space travel in the future. However, there has been a thread of discussion about alien visitors
either (Expired Link)coming to Earth astrally, or, being able to induce astral separation.

Sounds. We've all heard or read the reports of sounds associated with Astral
Projection - banging, rushing, whooshing, clicking(see #34). What's going on here? Is this an automatic
brain response?
Can the reverse be achieved - projection induced by sound?

Remote Viewing seems to walk the tightrope of either psychic
abilities or some form of astral travel. Some of the descriptions of remote viewers experiences
seem much like projections. Psi Tech is an example of the RV technique brought into the mainstream

The philosophical difference seems to follow that astral travel is really soul or spirit independant of the body
whereas remote viewing is transference of consciousness.

Products like this really worry me. I would be very careful to investigate
claims like these. It looks to be a mild halluncinogen. The main ingredient
is Salvia Divinorum which comes from Mexico. Chemically, it looks like
this.
I recommend staying away from using something like this because
the claimed feeling of projecting is probably much like a hallucinating feeling. Very weird!

How can you not help but think about out-of-body love stories today?
- (not that I would recommend encounters like the one above).
Another avenue is the astral romance novel, or, the Psychic Realm (now I'm really
getting carried away).
The goal is just to have some fun today, fall in love, be in love, or stay in love. Keep those romantic notions going!

I'm not sure that everyone would agree with me that NDEs (Near Death Experiences)
are just another manifestation of Astral Projection or OBEs. Frankly, (Expired Link)
stories like this only support my beliefs. However, could these beliefs really stem from a strictly western cultural heritage? Zen
beliefs may incorporate a portion of this but have a different view through Nirodha.
Now I'm always bothered by the stories of astral bodies being stuck or caught somewhere. I want to pursue this more - but being
stuck halfway is news to me!

I recently finished the book, Dreams & Projection of Consciousness by Jane Roberts.
For those of you not familiar with the Seth books, Jane Roberts was an artist who, after experimenting on a Quija board with her
husband, started channeling a spirit named 'Seth'. You may have seen the books, Seth Speaks or The Seth Material.
These books were the inspiration for my interests in astral and out-of-body experiences when I was young. Jane Roberts died in 1984 but her
husband, Robert Butts, continues to publish her works.
'Dreams...' is a fascinating read for anyone since it deals
with the early years coming to grips with a channeled presence and astral projection. Read them all!

One of my favorite sites to visit is the Willard Library
ghostcam in Evansville, IN. I come back to this site
during the late evening hours hunting the mysterious Gray Lady. June's
GhostWatcher site spooks me a bit - especially the basement cam.
Sometimes seeing another's OBE can be frightening.
I'm not much of an advocate for the scary side of OBEs and Astral Travel. People can have
disturbing experiences. I say just keep to the positive side.

life as a soldier in WWII. However, I wanted to have an OBE
like this but couldn't.
